New Webmail Interface |
 |
We have a new webmail interface system, it has alot of new features and is easy to use. We're looking for our customers to try it before we completely put it into production. If you would like to try it, go to the following url http://mail.gvii.net:32000/webmail Please send us your feedback at noc@gvtci.net and let us know what you think of it. It might be a tad slow first time you use it. We will decide if we're going to fully release it after getting some feedback from our customers.

Users now have complete SPAM filter control! |
 |
We have done extensive modifications of our mail server, you can now whitelist an email that our system thinks is spam.
Whitelist means you can mark your personal settings so that you can receive email from that particular sender. IE a list serv or a company in particular that kepts getting marked as spam.
To do so login into your web mail and open the message that we believe to be spam, look to the right for a green check mark - click it. You will now receive email from that mail server without being marked spam in the future. |

A tougher fight - Spam & Viruses |
 |
Everyone probably has noticed an increase in spam and viruses in recent days, GVTCI has recently tightened up it's spam/virus filters. Here is what has changed.
In the past when we recognized a message as spam, we would just tag it spam and deliver it to you anyway. We have now setup our mail system to deposit those messages in a special spam folder in your web mail and not send to you automatically. The problem with this is that it may cause legitimate email to get flagged spam also.
Please log into your web box on occasion to verify that you do not have any legitimate email that was not delivered. You may do this by going to our home page at http://www.gvtci.net and click on the email tab in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
Log into your email with your username and password, you will notice a folder called spam on the left, this is where those messages will be stored for now on.
Please call or email us if you have any questions.

Email Warning! Please Read |
 |
| There are a few emails being circulated around the internet that claim to be from Suntrust Bank, Citibank, and Washington Mutual bank. These emails ask people to click on a link and verify their banking account/personal information. Do not do this as there are dishonest people out there trying to steal your identity. Identify theft is a big problem, especially by tricking people through their email. Please contact your respective banks if you receive any of these emails and file a complaint with their internet security department. This has been a public announcement from Grand Valley Telecom to their customers. |
