Windows 98 Step by Step Setup:
Double Click on the "My Computer" icon.
Double Click the "Dialup Networking" folder.
Select the "Make New Connection".
Type GVII Net where is says "my connection"
Click Next.
Type the Dialup Number:
Click Next then "Finish"
Now you have a new icon called "GVII Net" select it.
Right click on it and choose properties.
On the "general" tab uncheck "use country code & area code".
Choose the "Server Types" tab on top.
Uncheck all except TCP/IP. Click OK
Windows 98 Dialup Networking Setup Notes:
Make sure you check in your control panel, network icon that the only items listed are Client for Microsoft Networks, Dialup Adapter, & TCP/IP. No others should be listed. If they are delete them by selecting them and clicking the remove button.

Make sure you reboot after configuring your dialup networking settings. Win98 more than 95 needs to set itself up to accept your new settings considering it comes with so much internet junk on it. By doing what we advocate you basically clean house and things run much more smoothly.
